Mrs. Theresa Bates is a 2nd Degree Black Belt and Chief Instructor of Choong Sil Kwan Do in Bertram, Texas. She began her training in 2000 with the CTF and her current CTF Instructor Mr.K who is a 4th Degree Black Belt and Chief Instructor of the West Coast region. Her training along side of Mr. K in a more structured environment greatly improved her technique, skill, power and her teaching abilities. She is dedicated to the art and received her current rank of 2nd degree in July 2004. Then in August 2005 she successfully tested in Arkansas for her Black Instructors collar. She is hard working and diligent at assisting students to achieve their best technique and skill. Her high standard of discipline helps students to reach the goals, which are higher than they imagined they could reach.  She is an encouragement and inspiration to her students.  Her motto for her training and for those around her is, “ Where technique becomes an art.” Mrs. Bates moved to Bertram, Texas to open a new Choong Sil Kwan Do School with the help of her daughter Miss Sarah Bates who is a 2nd Degree Black Belt and Red Collar Instructor.
